About the Owner:

Some History:  Almost 20 years ago, Vanessa was an inquisitive little girl. She learned early on the supports and services available to those impacted by Autism Spectrum Disorder, as her family worked to find the best supports and services for her youngest brother. Wanting to go everywhere with her mother, she would accompany her mother and brother as they went his different therapies.

During a holiday break from school, she was invited into one of her brother’s occupational therapy sessions. After riding down the glider, going on swings and climbing up walls, she knew this was the job of her dreams.  Little did she know that day, this would turn into her career. 

Today: Vanessa Caulfield has supported students in the West San Gabriel Valley providing occupational therapy intervention, services, and evaluation for almost a decade. Her creative and engaging therapies make her interventions and assessments as much fun as they are functional. Her energy, enthusiasm, and care make her an engaging and effective therapist.

In intervention development and occupational therapy evaluations, Vanessa is highly trained and skilled. For example, Vanessa is certified in the administration and interpretation of the Sensory Integration and Praxis Test (SIPT). She is trained in Handwriting without Tears.

Vanessa Caulfield received her undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Southern California and her Masters of Art in Occupational Therapy from Loma Linda University. Upon graduation, she worked as a school based occupational therapist and early intervention occupational therapist before opening up OccuPLAYtion.
